Our imaginary opponents are worry, stress, and what might be
How often are we told ‘don’t worry’ as Bob Marley sang – by our friends, by our families, by our colleagues, our doctors, and our teachers. The reality is, in today’s world, worry and stress are absolutely a normal part of most of our daily life
What's more, most of us believe that worry is a normal healthy reaction to so much turbulence and trouble. The thing is – it is normal in as much as this is most people’s reaction – but worrying, being anxious and stressed, robs us of the very energy we need to actually make a positive difference. To adapt and change - to benefit both ourselves and everyone around us in today’s world - cannot be done unless we are confident in our capabilities, are self-assured, seeing possibilities and opportunities for positive change and alternative approaches
How about today you take a few minutes to reflect on how much time and energy you waste shadow boxing in your mind
Understanding the beliefs, behaviours and mind-sets that hinder our progress can give a huge uplift as these steal our energy, poise and confidence. These restricting beliefs, behaviours and mind-sets literally have the same effect on us as going 10 rounds in a boxing ring with a heavy weight world champion. It’s exhausting, it’s debilitating, and it’s a total waste of our precious energy
The steps then become as straight forward as letting go of the restricting ones, so you no longer have to shadowbox them
Our Progressfull Principles Journal shares the Releasing and Restricting practices so you can stop shadowboxing and start boxing clever – choosing confidence
Today spend a few minutes to consider whether you actively choose to practice the beliefs, behaviours and mind-sets that will result in the reward of confidence – giving you the opportunity to adapt, flourish and thrive, to start boxing clever and stop shadow boxing in your mind
The most empowering thing we can do to start boxing clever and stop shadow boxing in your mind is to choose confidence. Choosing Confidence is about learning how to gain self-assurance, poise and self-belief. Learning how to trust yourself and know you are enough. For someone to consistently and confidently Choose Confidence requires a shift in beliefs, behaviours and mind-sets and is an on-going process
At Progressfull, we have an Upskill (our name for a course or masterclass) which will help you to start appreciating the beliefs, behaviours and mind-sets that will release you to progress further by consistently and purposefully applying the principle of Choosing Confidence
As we mentioned, we call these beliefs, behaviours and mind-sets Releasing practices. The Releasing practices provide us with more detail and help us to appreciate the beliefs, behaviours and mind-sets of Choosing Confidence. Putting these into practice daily will enable you to consistently and purposefully ditch the restricting practices which hold you back and adopt the releasing practices which help you progress, so you can focus your energy and effort in winning the game of life. Learning how to let go of the things that hold you back and hold you down. As Floyd Mayweather said,
